Pre- Apprenticeship Training

This course is for young people who wish to complete an apprenticeship but for whom the minimum entry standard has not been achieved ie. Junior Certificate. The course offers learners the opportunity to gain the qualification needed to begin an apprenticeship or to proceed to further education at level 4 and beyond.

The course is comparable to Junior Certificate standard with an emphasis on practical skill areas. This multidisciplinary course offers both hands-on and classroom based modules. The subjects covered are: Craft, Maths, Physics, Engineering Skills, Welding, Technical Drawing, Communications and Computer Literacy. On completion of the programme, learners may progress to apprenticeships, further education, or employment.
