Who We Are

ABOUT US

Dun Laoghaire Community Training Centre was established in 1986 with funding from FAS. The centre has developed and grown greatly since then. Now the centre receives funding from Dublin Dun Laoghaire Education Training Board (DDLETB) and offers places for 55 young Early School Leavers.

We are accommodated on York Road in Dun Laoghaire in a building which was previously a church built for the Presbyterian stone masons who came to Kingstown in the 1840s to construct one of the piers. The building became a school after the Church moved across the road (Kingstown Grammar School) and then became an Art College which was then further developed and was the starting point for the IADT on Kill Avenue.

The building is now fully equipped and resourced as a Training and Education centre for Early school leavers. We have a fully equipped industrial Kitchen, Workshop, Beauty and Hair Salon and provide all the equipment learners need when they attend here.

Welcome

I would like to welcome you to our new website which has been exciting to put together and build. DLCTC has been open since 1985 and while there have been lots of changes along the way, we have tried to create a positive, inclusive and welcoming learning environment for all our learners. We have met some amazing young people in our time, many of whom have gone on to achieve brilliant personal and career goals.

I hope you find this website useful and instructive about our centre but, please do feel free to contact us if you need more information or would like to visit at any time.
